My name is Harshi , I am a first year( going into 2nd year 25/26) Economics and Geography student EconSoc Conference Coordinator.
I think conferences are vital part of EconSoc as it provides members with the space to plan for their future with the help of experienced speakers.
As the conference coordinator I will increase focus on certified workshops to increase participation. I will also ensure we have panelists representing newer sectors of economic jobs along with workshops about how to incorporate AI into said jobs.
Along with maintaining EconSoc's relation to sponsors I will also work had to secure new sponsors. I will achieve this by increasing participation by collaborating with the marketing team and other societies to host joint
conferences.
I will employ my organisation skill to be on top of scheduling and budgeting along with ensuring to communicate with other committee members to keep everyone on the same page.
