Hi, my name is Hemisha and I am currently a second-year medical student! Throughout my role as a pre-clinical representative this year, I have developed a keen interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Obs and Gynae), and I am eager to further develop this as the Secretary for LogSoc. I currently have the responsibility of relaying key information about upcoming events with first-year and second-year medical students; this is something that I find very fulfilling as I am able to see the curiosity of medical students increase in Obs and Gynae first-hand by being their initial point of contact. My involvement with the committee has provided me with hands-on experiences through various talks and clinical skills sessions, which have significantly fuelled my curiosity and interest in the field. I am excited to engage more students about Obs and Gynae next year by taking on a more active role within the society. After a year with the committee, I am now considering this as a potential career pathway and I really hope that I can replicate this experience for many other students as Secretary for LogSoc.

Hi, my name’s Safaa and I’m currently a 3rd year medical student.

I have really enjoyed being a part of the committee this year and attending LOGSOC’s events for the past 3 years, and listening to some of the great talks has only furthered my interest in this specialty.

I feel passionate about obstetrics and gynaecology as a specialty and believe women’s health is an area that needs more attention.

I would like to apply for the role of secretary as I believe I have great organisational and time management skills, which are essential for maintaining accurate records. I am also confident in communicating and liasing with various groups of people such as the university to allow for the smooth running of the society. My work experience as a receptionist in a hospice has made me proficient in maintaining comprehensive records, ensuring that important discussions, decisions, and actions are recorded accurately and promptly, as well as helping develop my communication skills.

I believe I am a reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy individual and work well with others. I really look forward to continue working as part of a team of like-minded people with similar interests and believe I could bring some great ideas into the group, as well as promoting the society, and specialty as a whole!

For those of you who I have not met - my name is Luka and I am currently in 4th year.
I have been part of LOGSOC's wonderful committee for the past year in the position of 4th year coordinator which I have absolutely loved. I have always had a suspicion that Obs&Gynae might be for me, but after my GOSH placement back in September last year I know for sure, which is why I have so much enjoyed being on LOGSOC's committee this year and getting involved in all of the fantastic events that we organise. I thoroughly enjoyed my committee position this year but I would really appreciate the opportunity to take on a position with slightly more responsibility next year hence why I am applying for secretary.
I am really passionate about Obs&Gynae and have found the events that LOGSOC have organised this year so interesting - from talks by people with their personal stories, to lectures on cutting-edge research to exam prep - we have done it all! I know from what people have told me that our events are really popular and well-received. I would love to play more of a role this year in running the society and all the events we put on as well as playing a part in publicising the events to get as many people there as possible. I believe I am enthusiastic, organised and good at working in a team which I hope will be useful for the role of secretary. I think I could do a very good job - coming up with lots of ideas myself and also doing everything I can to make other people’s ideas happen. I am more than happy pulling my weight in the society and doing lots of bits and bobs as this is what teamwork is about. Overall, I think I could do a really good job as secretary and would really appreciate you giving me this opportunity.
