Hey everyone, I’m Liv and I am running for MSRC president next year! I am currently a 3rd year student and will be intercalating next year. I have been a part of MSRC for the past two years, first as societies rep and then as secretary, both of which have helped me learn a lot about running the society. One of my main aims for next year is to have more in person interaction into the society with in- person meetings, to allow people to get to know each other more and have more productive discussions. I also want to organise lots of events across the year, with 6 MUMs events as well as others that were able to run this year such as the fresher’s fairs and the Worsley’s. Another thing I want to focus on is support for students transitioning into clinical years from non-clinical years. As someone who did this myself last year, I found it very overwhelming, especially as you can feel like you are in the way all the time! I believe both MSRC and the school could provide more support for these students, by providing more information of what to expect on placement and how to get the most out of it.
