Hey all, I'm Amy and I'd like to be your MSRC secretary for 22/23. I've been part of MSRC for two years as 1st & 2nd year rep and have loved being involved with committee. During this time I have have gained experience with minuting for CMTs and the odd MSRC meeting, as well as arranging meetings between reps and staff. These roles have also taught me how to be persistent with getting our voice heard and points across. Additionally, I have gained organisational skills by creating study groups for the Year 1 Summative exam for those who had not had the chance to meet many peers due to COVID and arranging the medical school merchandise, where I also learned how to deal with others not doing what was agreed and resolving the issues caused by that.
Outside of MSRC, I have worked as a fundraising events researcher for a children's hospice so have experience with organising large-scale events, managing key information and the technology required to both these things, all in a medical capacity. Additionally, I helped run my college's LGBTQ+ society, where I learned how to effectively network between staff and students over contentious issues regarding student welfare and ensure better communication between the two.
