Gentlemen,

The time has come. It is simply the most exciting time to be alive. This year, my charity and fundraising side quests have led me to one conclusion. Sponsorship and Fundraising secretary is a role I feel most suited and excited about, and a role that I will give my absolute everything towards in order to secure the sponsorship and execute the charity events that this club holds at the core of its values.

Regarding this position, you might ask what makes me the right candidate?

- I have had prior experience on the committee as welfare secretary, which will ensure I can effectively contribute towards the direction of the club (both inside and outside the role) working closely with the exec.
- I have successfully organised charity events already this year, including the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (reaching £2,250 and the top 5% of donors) and the Netball Charity tournament, along with assisting in other charity events.
- I am actively engaged in both the cricket and social side of the club, having represented various BUCS teams and vice-captaining the 3rd 11 this year.
- I have been President of a supremely inferior society this year. During this time, I have successfully raised sponsorship and funding for it, grown its membership by 200%, and executed 2 balls with 175 attendants.
- I have compiled a list of many companies in Leeds that might be interested in sponsoring the club and have a further list of connections up in Edinburgh and around England who may also show interest.
- Some call me a chronic yapper. Others call me a foghorn. I will direct this energy towards badgering every company in Leeds to secure this club the sponsorship it needs. I will bring to this role; presitance, inter-personal skills and alot of energy.

I truly feel I am well-suited and able to give this role my all. However, above all, I want to stress that I am doing this to deliver on the requirements of this position and the committee’s goals—not a CV or a black card. I genuinely want this club to keep moving in the positive direction that the executive and committee have helped it with this year. I will leave it there and elaborate more on these ideas at AGM.
