Hey everyone! I am just finishing up my first year as a geography student and am also a huge lover of TV and film. I started making videos on iMovie in year 6 and never stopped! I particularly love documentaries and will always make time for David Attenborough. I participated in a number of short film competitions and hosted a film festival during my sixth form years, and would love to continue filmmaking next year.

Hey everyone, I'm Brad and I'm running to be the next Head of Filmmaking for LSTV. Some of you might not know me as I've been abroad this year but this society was such a fun part of my first two years at uni and I can't wait to be back in September.

As a Film & Photography student, I have spent the past 3 years learning about all the different areas of the production process and am confident that I will be able to support and encourage people to get stuck in with Filmmaking. On my year abroad, I have worked on four short films and two short documentaries, all with quick turnaround times so I have experience with producing films and creating lots of content!

If elected, I will work with other departments, as well as use my connections in other societies to create a wide range of opportunities for our members. For example, we can create documentary opportunities throughout the year by following sports teams through their season or the performance societies as they put their shows together.

As Head of Filmmaking, my main goal will be to encourage our members to create their own films and give as many opportunities as possible across various departments. I will aim to consistently have projects on the go so that there are always opportunities for people who want to get involved in any part of the process, from writing to editing. I will put on workshops for people to come and learn about different film departments and hopefully gain new skills in the process.

Overall, I want to open up filmmaking to create lots of opportunities for people to get involved with no matter their experience or interests. I would absolutely love the opportunity to give back to a society that has given me so much!

year student Studying English Literature and Film Studies who is applying to be your next head of Filmmaking in LSTV!

I’m Charlie and I am running for Head of Filmmaking, this is an area I am incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about. I have attended various short film courses, like the BFI film academy and The Theatre Royal Newcastle filmmaking course, and I have also gotten involved in various events for LSTV in the past year. If I am elected, I plan to start production on the films we are currently working on in the filmmaking sessions run by Dan and also intend to hold my own filmmaking workshops for the new freshers to share my love and knowledge of film.
