My name is Briyana Kinyua, and I am running for Treasurer of EASOC because I am passionate about creating a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming space for our community, and ensuring that we have the space to be unapologetically ourselves. As an Economics student, managing numbers, planning and budgeting is kind of my thing, and I am committed to making sure our finances are well-organised and transparent, funding is secured, and that we have the resources to run a variety of fun and engaging events throughout the year. Beyond the numbers and spreadsheets though, I care deeply about this society and what it stands for. EASOC has been an important part of my university experience, where I have connected with so many amazing people, and I want to take on an active role as Treasurer and do my part in creating a memorable experience for everyone else.
