The President is the representative for our club with the union and student community, with the importance of keeping a good relationship with everyone.

Main responsibility is overseeing the rest of committee, making sure everyone else is doing their job properly and picking up slack where needs be. Must attend meetings with union representatives, sports assemblies and committee, and responsible for the society email account. It is also highly important to stay on top of ongoing deadlines for things such as GIAG’s and funding applications. At the start of the year, there is a lot to do, most importantly ensuring all memberships have been paid. A knowledge of each area of the club is essential for dealing with any problems as you’re the first point of contact. You must be able to reply to emails and messages daily. It is vital to remember the committee is a team of people and so delegating off work to the correct person is the correct thing to do. Furthermore you are expected to be present at SWP events in Leeds throughout the year. The Presidents role is constantly changing so you must be able to adapt to situations the club finds itself in.

Ultimately the club needs to run smoothly, and you should ensure every member is enjoying themselves!
