Hey y'all, I'm Leah and I'm running for Dance Lead!
In the past society year the dance strand has come on leaps and bounds (pun intended) thanks to the work of the incredible existing Dance Lead and supporting committee. LAMMPS Dance is well known and well respected in the dance and performance sphere at LUU, and we've really made a name for ourselves!
If nominated, I hope to continue the success of LAMMPS dance by bringing fab choreography, fun opportunities, and great socials to the table. Dance societies can be intense and intimidating, but I want to make this strand warm, welcoming, and an opportunity for people to let off some steam, have fun, and discover their potential whether they have dance experience or not. I hope to collaborate and work closely with members, giving them a say in what we do, such as providing opportunities to choreograph and design costumes. I also hope to build relationships and collaborate with other dance and performance societies to provide a variety of experiences for our members.
I have experience as a teacher, committee member, and as a member of the dance and show strands, so I can bring my experiences from being behind the scenes, backstage, and on stage to this position to make for another successful year!
