Hi there guys, gals and non binary pals. I would like to be your social sec next year pretty please.

I have experience with organising big social events like cocktail party, welcome barbecue and medic ball. I think lots of people had a really good time at these events so I think I'd be a good fit for the role :)

I am very excited at the opportunity to organise TOUR TOUR TOUR and various other events throughout the year.

I would like to try and do more socials across all the strands and come up with some new ideas - I heard camping might be on the cards???

I believe part of the reason why LAMMPS won most inclusive society at the Worsleys is because of the varied socials and I would love to continue this on plus more!!

I would also be very open to any suggestions and try to make whatever socials you want happen so please vote for me 3.

Hey I’m Kate Gerrard, a 2nd year medic. The Lightning Thief this February, was my first show, and the first of many.

So, social sec? Have I got what it takes?

* To those who know me, I am constantly messaging, emailing, posting on Snapchat and Instagram persuading my mates to come to all sorts of events in Leeds - art exhibitions, theatre trips, camping, eating out, pop ups, you name it….

* Planning distractions from my degree is my favourite hobby.

* I am the Queen of the Outlook invite and have no shame in sending reminders.

* I have experience of being a social sec for Medics hockey, running the events pages on Facebook.

* I love a cheeky poll to get everyone excited for an event, and want all society members to feel they can input on what we do.

* There’s always an excuse for a themed dress up - so have your costumes ready.

If you vote for me, you can expect fabulous socials to bring cast and crew together for bonding.
We’re talking karaoke nights, BBQs, wine & cheese night, pub quizzes, themed parties, and of course tour.

I have big plans to take LAMMPS into the wilderness, for the first ever LAMMPS camping trip.
What better way to bring the company together than a little singsong round the campfire (Camp-Half-Blood-style).

I am an outgoing and energetic person, and a great member of LAMMPS choir, even there in COVID last year!
I’ve got a great drive to organise events, especially things that I want to do, like plant pot painting! Something I want to do is create socials with and without drinking so we can all have fun in a range of different activities.
I have experience running a bouldering society. I am also a committee member for BrainLeeds and an ambassador for BrainBook which means I’ve got experience with social media and organisation roles as well. My experience means I've learnt the necessary skills to be a great social sec!
Finally, I’m fun, creative and approachable, so whatever ideas you guys have about socials I will help make happen! 😊

Throughout my time in LAMMPS I’ve been at every social and loved it. I have so many ideas for what we can do next year (such as sushi nights and carrying on the tradition of wine and cheese!) and am especially passionate about integrating backstage with society as well as cross society socials which work to make dance, choir and show strands closer. I want to work to make socials as accessible and fun as possible through putting on lots of drinking and non-drinking socials following the example of our lovely Social Secs this year! I’ve absolutely loved going being in LAMMPS and joining committee is the next natural step.
