Hi, I’m Ryan (he/him), a second year maths student from a small town in Northumberland. I am rerunning for Secretary after being in the role for the past year. I’m an enthused and competent individual with experience campaigning on and off campus.

My experience includes:

-Playing a proactive role in the Labour Party, both locally and nationally; playing a core role in our marginal wards of ‘Weetwood’ and ‘Farnley and Wortley’ and on the picket line in solidarity with UCU.
-A proven track record as the existing society Secretary; chaired and minuted society meetings, regularly emailed membership and liaised with external bodies, including LUU and CLPs, over the course of the year.
-Facilitating committee meetings; establishing the agenda and calendar of events.
-Successfully organising and advertising campaign days, society events and socials, including internal party hustings at both local and national level.
-Previous secretariat experience, representing 500 students.

I pledge to:

-Uphold society transparency and organisation.
-Continue to serve as the direct line of communication between membership and the committee.
-Strengthen the accessibility of the society.
-Build upon existing society communications and bookkeeping, taking a no nonsense approach.
-Ensure LLS is organised, and membership informed in order for the society to be a campaigning force.
