My name is Nikolai Giampietro, and I am running for Secretary for the 2026 Committee. I want to reactivate engagement on the LEEDSMUN social media page by adding more promotional material ( bulletins, interviews, more photos/videos and MUN introductions) and endorsing more socials.
- On the logistics side, I would like to make the society more accessible and engaging by introducing more roles to the committee to allow more people to run and make the roles more flexible in their work, as well as creating a Document Hub so that people can access information and practice on their ROP, and conference preparation.
- Furthermore, I would like to increase member participation in the society by giving members the chance to give feedback on the sessions and agendas, and occasionally bringing in current/live topics to the meetings.
I would also like to increase member participation by balancing topic agendas between committee-chosen ones and member-chosen ones ( done through efficient polls). I would also like to bring the study guides out earlier so people can prepare a bit more on the general topic of the agenda. These are just some of the ideas I am willing to bring and implement as Secretary.
Overall, as a first-year uni student and first time doing MUN, I would love to achieve the role of Secretary to expand the society, engage and care about what our members want and give back to everyone.
