I’m Tilly, going into my last year of my criminology and criminal justice degree and would love to be the person to bring everyone in the degree and those who just love a bit of crime together! From having a disconnected first year so not knowing many people in second year I’m determined to make the socials a place where people can meet new people, catch up with old friends and just have a good time! I feel as though this year the socials have not been that strong and introducing everyone to each other didn’t really happen leaving many people, including me, not attending as I didn’t know anyone. I want to make sure that important introduction goes ahead in a fun, social environment. I love going out and having a good time but can have just as much of a good time without alcohol involved so would make sure to create some sort of balance between drinking and non-drinking socials, always emphasises the fact you don’t need to be a big drinker to come along and join in! Things from bottomless brunches, classic otley runs, trampolining, cocktail bars, meals out…the list is endless. I hope my determined, motivated and positive character will be a good fit for this role.

My name is Hannah and I am a first year student. Having come to Leeds from a small town in North Wales, I understand the importance of meeting as many new people as possible and the need to feel like part of a community whilst at University. Therefore, as Social Sec, my main aim would be to create an inclusive and exciting environment where there is something for everyone to enjoy, whether this be attending cocktail making events or going to escape rooms!
I pride myself on being a people person and having great organisation skills. As the current student rep for first years on our course and a student ambassador, I already have experience in communicating with a wide rage of people from students to staff members and guest speakers.
Putting my personal attributes to their best use and organising well run, fun events for members of CrimSoc is something I am extremely keen to do. Having attended some amazing socials this year such as the freshers Otley Run, it excites me to be able to have the opportunity to be a part of the committee and organise these events myself.
My wide range of hobbies including being a member of the University swim team show my ability to work well in a team, making me an ideal candidate.
