Not the best basketball player in Leeds by a long shot. However really like the group we got going in the society and I would commit my time to ensure that I’d fill all the roles of Vice President to a high standard on a consistent basis.

Hello my name is Shaun Dwyer and I think I will be the best candidate for Vice President for a plethora of reasons. Firstly, I am a very organised person who can efficiently meet deadlines and liaise with multiple different avenues of communication. I have effectively applied these skills during my work experience with one of the top PR firms in the UK Dawbell, where we had to thoroughly plan to meet the demands of clientele. These demands included meeting times, scheduling events and providing general feedback on their projects, which was communicated through a multitude of people: the client, their agent, their manager and so on. This high standard of communication and admin was championed at Dawbell and has translated into my personal skill set.

Secondly, another reason why I am the best candidate for Vice President is because I am familiar with the general organisation of a basketball club. Previously I have run a recreational team for my friends and I in the summer. To join this competitive league we had to provide specific documentation and adequate funding from all of the club’s players. I had to personally notify and remind everyone to provide said documentation and funding whilst ensuring it was correct and aiding the players when it was not, demonstrating that I am familiar with handling general funding and player documentation.

Lastly, the final reason why I will be the best candidate for Vice President is because I am charismatic and eager to learn what the role entails as my personal job prospects align with the skills required for Vice President: highly intricate admin, effective communication and public speaking. Therefore I would take the role very seriously and make sure the demands of the club are met so the society can have a successful and prosperous season.
