The welfare support role is mainly being a friendly approachable face around the club that members can speak to for welfare advice/concerns. It is then part of the role to offer guidance and signposting to members and help communicate anything necessary to further committee/coaches ect. Within the role you have the privilege of many members trusting you with personal and sensitive information which you must show complete respect and confidentiality towards. You will also work closely alongside the Safety and Inclusion Officer which includes doing regular drop ins, social media posts and facilitating new ideas to improve support within the boat club.
