Hello AVSOC!

Remember me :)? I am back, ready for round 2 and THIS time better than ever!

As the 2023/2024 AVSOC committee had to start from scratch, flying has really stepped up in momentum with 10 completed experience flights and even a collaboration with an amazing flight school (YAC). Although to get this planeload of people (enough to almost fill a Cessna Caravan) up in the sky, was not an easy task, I had managed to streamline the process to benefit AVSOC in a foreseeable increase in flight related opportunities. With this in mind I am very happy to run as AVSOC's Flying and Gliding Sec. again, as it was a my pleasure to arrange flying for our members with this being, for some, the first opportunity to pilot. Looking forward I will strive to increase the amount of flights open to our members, as well as provide a plethora of different opportunities that see all of you more in the skies than on the ground!

As an avid enthusiast of both flying and gliding, I am excited to present myself as a candidate for the Flying and Gliding Society at the University of Leeds Aviation Society. With my passion for aviation, I am currently pursuing my UK CAA PPL at a local aero club (Sherburn), which I aim to complete by July 2024. In addition, I currently hold an elementary paragliding license alongside having taken a gliding introductory lesson recently and thoroughly enjoyed this experience. I aim to promote hands-on learning experiences and opportunities for members to expand their flying skills knowledge and getting to experience seeing Yorkshire from above. I am dedicated to promoting inclusivity and accessibility within the society, ensuring that all students feel welcome to pursue their interests in aviation. I currently own a car and can provide transportation with 4 spare seats, which will be beneficial in accessing the local aero clubs where public transportation is often not available. If elected, I will work diligently with the society's leadership team to organise engaging activities and facilitate valuable learning opportunities for all members to enjoy.
