While officially named General Committee, this role in practice will be more like a Kit/competitions secretary as no other committee role has these as tasks designated. The kit side of things will be being in charge of club training kit. This involves keeping an up to date inventory of club training equipment and managing orders for both the club and club members. The committee member is also responsible for keeping track of what is borrowed for competitions, as this is when kit often gets lost or misplaced. Additionally placing orders with the supplier of the University Gryphon kit, as and when demand calls for it (ideally at least once a semester).

The competition side of this role involves keeping track of what external competitions are available and of interest to club members as well as helping to organise internal competitions. The committee member is not responsible for making sure members fill in the necessary documentation to compete, but they are responsible for making sure members know what is required if they want to participate. The committee member should liaise with other universities, and the activities team, with enough notice to make sure the society is correctly registered for competitions.

The committee member should, alongside all of the other committee members help to create an environment where everyone, regardless of skill level, is encouraged to compete should they want. 

All committee positions are voluntary so there is lots of room to support each other by dividing responsibility and workload!
