I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for Publicity & Social Media Secretary. Inspired by Aimee’s successes in the role & recognising the big shoes she leaves me to fill, I am eager to give my expertise to enhance our community as part of next year’s committee.

With an extensive background in leadership roles, I bring a wealth of skills & experience that uniquely qualify me for this position. Serving as President of Student Council or Regional Coordinator of the European Youth Parliament UK Alumni Association Executive makes me a candidate who is already accomplished at driving initiatives, fostering collaboration & enhancing communication. As Publicity & Social Media Secretary, I will leverage my skills to enrich the experience of every member.

My Pledges:
EXTERNAL MATCHES
- Foster partnerships & build communication links with other universities to organise matches & tournaments externally, helping to boost player development.
INTERNATIONAL PADEL TOUR
- Work with international partners to run a padel tour abroad next Easter.
MERCH
- Introduce custom padel kit & merchandise to better represent our society across the university & externally.
CLEAR COMMUNICATIONS
- Manage the society’s internal & external communications, including its social media accounts, with clarity & professionalism.
WARM WELCOMES
- Be a friendly face & a reliable point of contact to all new & continuing, beginner, intermediate (& everything in between!) players.
ACCESSIBLE & INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT
- Continue padel’s legacy of inclusivity & fun.

Hey everyone, I'm Malena and I'm running for Social Media Secretary next year at the Padel Society.

I'm currently a first year student taking Business Management and Marketing, hence I have a true passion for social media, promoting the society and maintaining positive image branding.

I am applying for the role since it is basically what I want to do in my career and already have a general knowledge of it. The main reason that I want to be in the committee though, is because of the society and its people. During this year, I've enjoyed pádel and its friendly and generous atmosphere, meeting so many genuine people I would like to collaborate with to make this continue and if possible, make it even better. What also makes me so happy is how a sport that reminds me of home brings so much joy to everyone as well!

I am really looking forward for the freshers fair next year to promote a fun and approachable image at the pádel society stand. I can't wait to contribute to the society's success and get people to enjoy pádel as much as I have done this year.

My plans for the role consist of:

- Make more video recordings so you can progess your improvement and have phsyical evidence of those smashing points (bloopers can be deleted upon demand).

- Make a pádel BeReal group to keep everyone connected and maintain the society’s essence of closeness and genuineness.

- Start a Pádel TikTok account!

- Post regular updates on the socials and trainings, padel news, Pádel World Tour tickets, tips, challenges for every training, equipment discounts...

- Make the Instagram account a digital diary of the year and help out with anyhting the other members of committee require (especially the pádel tour in Spain ;))!
