Salutations gentlemen,

As I enter into my final year in the wonderful city, I would love to be given the opportunity to continue the amazing work this year’s committee have conducted in pushing our beloved club into heights unknown. UoLMCC is simply the best society in Leeds, and it has enriched every aspect of my time at university, so serving on the committee in my last year would be a huge honour.

As a massive cricket badger, having spent maybe one too many lectures on cricket Sporcle quizzes (possibly explaining my awe-inspiring 52 last semester), fixture secretary serves to be the role in which I believe I would thrive. Having been a member of the performance squad for the past 2 years, I understand the integral role which the fixture secretary serves, and how without the hard work of Bepey and Kingy previously, the club would simply fall apart. I am passionate about ensuring that this work continues next year, aiming to uphold the excellent standard of cricket that has been displayed in the past 2 years, throughout the performance, main and development squads. Furthermore, having spent a lot of time bowling with Isaac, serving as his far more mediocre left-handed bowling partner, I would be eager to use his experience to ensure that all cricketing-related activities run smoothly again next year.

Furthermore, as many of you will know, I study what can only be described as a gag degree, having had a staggering 6 contact hours a week this year. Furthermore, with the ever-impending dissertation next year, my contact hours are only going to dwindle. Therefore, this provides me with the ability to dedicate a large amount of my time towards the role, with it being incredibly likely that I will be able to attend every main squad session, as well as handle any issue that may arise at the earliest opportunity. Given that the role of fixture secretary requires meticulous planning and effective time management, I believe I am the perfect candidate for this as I pride myself on being well-organised and hardworking, with Brucey and Nathan being able to attest to my rather irritating need to organise everything. I wholeheartedly believe that I will be able to assist in pushing the club in an even better direction if you elect me as fixture secretary.

Regarding my plans for next year, a main focus would be looking at the viability of a 4th XI, as was mentioned last year, and looking at how I could work with the Executive Committee to make this a reality. As the club only continues to grow, so will the talent pool available to us as a club. Therefore, it would be a real shame to see a large number of talented cricketers not be selected to represent the club they love. In addition to this, I would look to build upon the fitness opportunity provided this year, aiming to continue S&C sessions next year, as well as looking to restart spinning whilst also looking at either renegotiating Trib3 sessions or finding an alternative for these.
