The Competition Captain’s role is very similar to the Performance captain’s (see above), with responsibilities for entries to galas such as the BUSL. Competition and Development are by far our largest squads and so inclusion is key, making everyone feel welcome in the club and encouraging participation across the squad! This includes organising a squad meal and squad social early on in the year.
Must also ensure there is attendance at every training session according to policy at the edge to avoid these sessions being taken away. Any training session not covered by the coach must be sorted by the relevant captain. The captain must write sets and lead sessions when Jacob is not present.
Captains must also be present at all time trials and GIAG sessions in order to help organise the event as well as to welcome and encourage new members. They must then sort through swimmers and send acceptance/rejection emails
