Hello!

My name is Aimee Evans, a 20 year old studying Business Management and the Human Resource who enjoys horse riding, travelling, £2 tequila shots from Dry Dock and the role I am running for is General Welfare Secretary!

I’ve been riding for many years and thoroughly enjoy engaging in weekly lessons at the local yard riding Toffee (where we may have even done a few lessons together!). By getting involved in horse riding lessons I understand how important it is to build trust within any team and of course with the horses.

You’ve likely seen me at our socials (especially mischief due to my 98% attendance). I'm always eager to get involved in activities and socialising with new and current members of the society. I have a high regard for being an effective communicator, well organised and approachable in order to be the best General Welfare Secretary that I can be!

I have much familiarity with managerial and team based roles including being a supervisor in a café for over 3 years in which I developed my communication, organisation and team management skills. I’m also a course student representative that allows me to frequently communicate between the business school and its students. Thanks to these experiences I have learned to be a supportive individual who takes initiative.

As Secretary, I will use my strong dedication to develop a welcoming and fun environment where other students feel enticed to join. I will also arrange welfare workshops, attend meetings and work alongside fellow committee members and LUU to guarantee the smooth running and growth of the society!

I am delighted to have this opportunity to run for General Welfare Secretary and bring my passion for horse riding and organising into another successful year. I hope I’ve been able to show you why I would be a great candidate for this role.

Hi, I’m Poppy and I’m excited to be running for secretary and welfare sec of LUUHRC this year! I’ve now been a part of LUUHRC for three years and have been on committee this year as events secretary. Therefore I have a good understanding of how the society works which I think would make me a great fit for secretary. I’m organised and can work closely with others which are also important qualities for secretary! I’ve now also been at uni for three years and understand how hard it can be at times and have developed a lot of strategies to manage my own wellbeing so would be well suited to support other members of our society as welfare sec. I would work closely with the social secretary to organise regular wellbeing events for everyone, as well as using my capacity as a medical student to share wellbeing tips that are backed by science! I would also create easy ways to get in contact for support which could be as anonymous as people chose, as well as creating a space where everyone could share their favourite wellbeing tips to help others. I think I would be a great fit for secretary and welfare sec to help everyone have another great year as part of LUUHRC!
