Well-being Officer
Position Overview: The Well-being Officer is a crucial role in the University of Leeds Rifle Club, focusing on the mental and emotional well-being of its members. This position requires a high level of empathy, dedication, and a proactive approach to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment within the club.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Member Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for members who may be experiencing personal, emotional, or mental health challenges.
  2. Well-being Initiatives: Develop and implement initiatives and programs to promote mental health awareness and well-being among club members.
  3. Resource Provision: Provide information and resources on mental health and well-being, including university support services and external resources.
  4. Inclusive Environment: Foster an inclusive and supportive club culture that values the well-being of all members.
  5. Confidentiality and Sensitivity: Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with personal matters of club members.
  6. Training and Development: Stay informed about best practices in mental health and well-being, and possibly undergo relevant training to better support members.
  7. Collaboration with Committee: Work closely with other committee members to ensure that well-being is considered in all club activities and decisions.

Time Commitment: The role of the Well-being Officer is ongoing and requires a consistent presence. This includes being available to members for support, planning and executing well-being initiatives, attending regular committee meetings, and staying informed about mental health best practices. The nature of this role also requires flexibility to respond to members' needs as they arise.
