Captain/President

Hi Lads, Firstly, what an incredible year we've had so far. I hope you all, like me, are very excited for next year and that it brings many more great times. If elected, my main aim as club captain would be to guarantee that the club is running smoothly. I would ensure that all the committee members are happy and carrying out their roles, as well as delegating tasks to different members where necessary. It’s equally important that there are plenty of club events taking place that are fun and inclusive to all, such as the golf day and races, both of which I think you’ll agree were very successful this year. These events are vital to continue the unique community culture that we have in this club, and so my intention would be to have plenty more of these. My involvement over the past year in the committee has given me a good insight into how the club functions and would help me in the running of the club. My experience leading the mighty dev squad and indoor cricket team has also shown me the importance of every member of the club, no what standard of cricketing abilities. Further to this, carrying out these roles has allowed me to get to know all of you well. If I were to get this position, I hope that this would allow anyone to feel that they can come to me and ask for guidance whenever they need. MoT Eggman

Hello Gents, first of all I would like to say thank you to those on the committee who are departing this year. On a personal note it has been an incredibly enjoyable year, with everything that went on last year with covid, and the amount of problems which have come up this year, they have made it an incredible year and one to remember. With a new year coming up and the excitement to come with it, I believe it is vitally important to keep this club being one of the most enjoyable, welcoming and exciting of all societies. With a whole new group of first years entering the fray and returning students who know what the club have to offer, I feel it’s vitally important for the club to make positive strides in this year of new committee members, and so I believe I will be able to help this club keep on one of the best ones to be apart from. On a personal note, I have been around the club for two years now. One as a very new fresher and more ne as your social sec. I arrived into the Social Secretary roll knowing very little of what the club was really about; the behind the scenes work, countless hours spent communicating with the union and the key work to make the cricket and socials enjoyable for everyone. I feel now I am in a strong position to take over the reigns, along with the rest of the executive team I wish to make the club as welcoming as possible to future students. I’ve played indoor cricket, first and second team cricket, society football. I’ve been to all planned socials and many different social events, so would like to think I’m well known about the club and known as an approachable member. Along with this I have organised many events for the club; tour to Rimini, race day, away day and although my organisation/planning hasn’t been of the highest order, I believe I have improved this skill over the course of the year. I love this club and it has made my uni experience incredible. I want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to see what this club has to offer. Thank you for your time! MoT WaW Rodshite
