I, for one, have pretty much lived in my luumcc gear since i got it. The kit, both playing and casual, gives a real individuality to the club and a unity to everyone in it. As well as striving to sort training kit and whites as efficiently and effectively as possible next year, given the chance to organise kit for the club, i would look to offer a bit more of a broader range of casual stash for the winter months to compliment the existing quarter zip. i would go about this by taking a simple online survey early in the year in order to find levels of interest for a variety of items. my existing thoughts are bobble hat, cap, sliders, water bottle etc but would also be very open to ideas others may have. If interest is high enough and the logistics work, this would mean new freshers could get their hands on some good stash early doors and seniors could get excited at the prospect of new gear for a new year. sorting this early on in the year would - in my opinion - allow freshers to feel like a real part of the club earlier than they may have originally, and reinforce the strength of the club on campus by getting the badge out there as much as possible over the year.

I am a strong believer in making things as easy as possible so I'm going to keep this short and sweet. This concept will be taken into the roll of kit sec meaning I will make things as easy as possible for the ordering of kit. I can provide the dedication to run things smoothly while making it easy for everyone to get exactly what they want. I am also aware of several changes people want to make regarding kit, including getting it out earlier, especially for freshers, and the possibility of other kit items. We all love a bit of stash and I feel I could provide what people want.

Hi lads, I am going for kit sec this year.
For the past two years I have worked at a sports clothing company that distribute to cricket clubs such as ourselves. Hence I believe that I’m well suited to this role as I’m aware of the processes of making, personalising and shipping your kit. What I’d try to achieve is pretty simple; to get you the best kit and stash that you want as quick, early in the year and hassle-free as possible. Here’s a list of just some of my ideas for next year:

• Improved communication through various polls and posts throughout the year. Transparency being key.
• Use of online polls regarding tweaks to kit designs and to gage demand for kit and stash - including potential new items.
• Potentially consider a manufacturer change for next year. The company I work for have strong ties with Canterbury, so could look at that route. There may be no change, but the decision would be made based on price, quality, design, and how quickly we can get wearing it.
• Some new items we could introduce depending on demand: floppy playing hats; training vests; boonies - latest craze I’m led to believe; a form of tour stash (be it budgie smugglers, bucket hats or just a polo).
• A strong push for a club-wide order of oddballs beanies. Look good and money goes towards charities.
• Getting stash/kit earlier in the year - better representation for club around uni and more awareness for sponsors.
• Improve the committee sweater - they look pretty average. I could potentially sort these out (and create them) over summer.
• Names and numbers on the back of white playing shirts - if a popular idea
• Leading on from this, perhaps introduce club/squad numbers across the club - another way to increase inclusivity and look good (maybe small numbers on training kit too) - these extras could be optional too.
• Encouraging everyone to get kit/stash (if they want to) regardless of squad or ability, everyone should have and be able to represent the badge.

I realise that this looks like a lot of change, however these mere tinkers are only a mix of realistic goals and early stage ideas. As you can see from above I’m almost embarrassingly passionate about kit, so, as a business student with too much time, I would be a very active and dedicated kit sec for the society. Also I would be very open to any other suggestions over the course of the year to improve club kit.
