Heya everyone! こんにちは！My name is Lucy (Nitta) and I will be running for the role of secretary with Leeds Anime Society. Although I only just joined the university, and therefore the society, this year, I have had so many amazing experiences. I have met so many people and have been invested in the community that has been wonderfully built by the committee and would love to try running for said committee to help nurture and encourage this lovely community!

Before joining the university, I would never have thought I would find such a welcoming community where I truly feel wanted. By becoming secretary I would strive to continue that family feeling that so many have with anisoc, becoming a spokesperson for the voices of the community.

I believe I have a lot of experience with delegating and conversing with people, being incredibly active in the discord and trying my best to help where I can (especially in Japanese!). As secretary, I would love to continue being that helping hand, providing more resources for those wishing to learn Japanese/start cosplaying as well as help out in the broader sense as the second in command.

I want to hopefully arrange more arts based events for everyone! I know that so many people want to learn how to draw in an anime style and/or learn Japanese as a language and I’d love to arrange these as workshops to help people learn even more.

Hi there! My names Quinn [known as quincy_pc on discord], my pronouns are they/he and I'm here to nominate myself to be your secretary.

Since I joined the society at the start of this year, I've aimed to be as involved in the different events the best that I can, whether this be the geek quizzes where you get to put your nerdy knowledge to the test, or the MCM Birmingham trip. Alongside this, I've been a regular in different discord chats. Including my greatest achievement: being the person who wrote so much about recommending Wonder Egg Priority that a rule had to be made limiting how much you could write for a recommendation. I'm the first to admit I went a little overboard, though I still stand by what I said. I've made it my goal from the beginning to be someone who people can trust and talk to within the society, someone who only has others best interest at heart, and in the process I met so many wonderful people who I can now confidently call my friends. As such, I'd love the chance to give back to the society by helping the committee make the society an enjoyable place for both current members and any members we may get in the future.

I've had experience organising events before and being in a position of responsibility, having been one of the two Head People in sixth form, putting together trips for our year that worked around covid conditions, even managing an end of year party and yearbook. I similarly enjoy talking with people - whether it be those I've known before or new people - and seeing what it is that they'd love to see. It is in my agenda to find out what sort of events people would like to see and do my best to work with others to make them a reality. I will work hard alongside the others to lead the society so that all feel welcome, safe, excited to be a part of the family and overall just glad that they made the decision to join the society.
