Hello there! My name is Thomas, and I am your current Treasurer and would like to continue on for another year. My hopes for next year is to do more trips to anime conventions and such (like the MCM Birmingham trip we did this year), provide more support and clear instructions on letting members host their own marathon of series (in Union booked rooms) that they especially want to watch (or series that we can’t watch as a whole society). Additionally, as Treasurer I plan to finally provide a budget to the Librarian to expand the manga library and get more collections that interest people (or expand our current series with more volumes, depending on what people want). I also hope to do more sporadic events (likely over university breaks). Such as bowling or ice skating.

I guess with that over I will talk more about myself down here. As far as anime goes, I tend to like 3 main genres, Fantasy, Comedy, and Dark/Psychological. My favourite anime is That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, a great fantasy anime with some good comedy mixed in. From there, there are a lot of others that I rank similarly. Tokyo Ghoul (I still need to finish the RE:s but is one of, if not the best psychological anime I’ve seen), Fairy Tale (again a great mix of fantasy and comedy, but really falls off story wise in recent time), Hellsing (also a good dark themed anime), Psycho-Pass (again another good dark themed anime, and with some interesting themes in season 3) and I’ll finalize this list with Fullmetal Alchemist (a classic with a great story and themes).
With some of my top anime over I’ll get onto Naruto. Naruto is an amazing anime (I’ve watched near all of it and I kept up with Boruto for quite a while), and as you likely noticed the image I chose is from Naruto (I wanted to do a GIF but the site wouldn’t let me ☹). However, on an episode to engagement ratio it’s not very good, as Naruto has some amazing moments, however most of the time it’s very slow and the filler in the Naruto can be painful to watch at times (though I will say the filler for Boruto is so much better). If you have the time and dedication, watching all of Naruto is great, but unfortunately, I feel it’s not worth the time anymore when I can watch something like My Hero Academia and get about 80 episodes worth of Naruto content in a 12 episode season. Also, on old anime notes Bleach is also really good (though the plot is painful at times and I don’t speak of season 16… as far as I’m concerned it does not exist and should be its own anime and not a continuation of Bleach).
