Hi, I'm Joe, a third year maths student rerunning for treasurer! I have a huge love of films from all genres with a particular interest in queer cinema, animation, horror and weird shit. I've been a regular attendee of the society since my first year and have thoroughly enjoyed the last year of being treasurer and being given the opportunity to share films that mean a lot to me with the society. Hearing the thoughts feelings and conversations they inspire has been a delight, bringing new perspectives to old favourites. It'd be a pleasure to continue sharing this love of films with the society and I'm always happy to hear people's thoughts on how the society could be improved for next year (feel free to chat to me in person I'm almost always at the screenings or @joestward on instagram). Being a maths student, film soc treasurer feels like the perfect overlap of my passions, having a head for numbers and enjoying spreadsheets more than anyone ever should. In general, I try my best to be an organised person which seems to have worked well enough over this year.

I'd like to work on building more of a community for the upcoming year and make more of an effort to make the socials more inviting for newcomers as well as taking better advantage of the lending library, a huge stash of dvds and blu rays that we have collecting dust in the student union, as well as introducing things like content warnings and subtitled screenings to make the society more accessible.

Hi! I’m Bob, I am a first year Economics student and I am hoping to be Filmsoc treasurer next year. I love how the film society provides a space for people who are interested in films to have fun and meet new people. If I were elected I would:
- Keep membership price low to keep the society as accessible as possible
- Allocate more funds to activities like quizzes and cinema trips
- Push for a wide range of films to be shown for everyone to enjoy
- Keep filmsoc as welcoming and fun an experience as possible for all members
