Hi! My name is Lana and I will be entering my third and final year in studying Philosophy and Politics. Recently, I participated in a production of Happy Pills with Open Theatre and met some incredibly talented and wholesome people. My experience was so positive that I am now hoping to join the committee and encourage more students to get involved. As the inclusivity officer, I will work to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our amazing community. I believe in promoting diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the theatre society.

Hi everyone! I'm a first year student doing film studies who was apart of the cast for an OT show this past year (Love, Plantain, and the Death of a Matriarch). It showed me how wonderful Open Theatre is, so I would love to have a more active role in the society.

I am running as inclusivity officer because this is something I feel very passionately about; I would ensure the society is a welcoming and safe space for all kinds of individuals, especially queer and POC students. I’d also like to encourage more diversity of all forms within our performances through organised workshops and talks, among listening to other suggestions and ways in which we can continue to improve our society.

Lydia (the current inclusivity officer) also said: “The role of inclusivity officer requires the ability to make newcomers to the society feel comfortable. Micah would be brilliant for this role because above all he is kind and approachable. He is also incredibly passionate about theatre, and would therefore commit himself to making Open Theatre an accessible space for all.”

My journey with Open Theatre began at the onset of my university experience, where I quickly developed a deep appreciation for the captivating plays and the wonderful individuals I encountered.
