Dear everyone,

For those who do not know me, my name is Kirat, a 2nd year dental student running for of DentSoc President for the upcoming year.

As President, I aim to introduce fresh ideas while continuing to uphold the excellent traditions already established within the society. I am a highly dependable and hardworking individual who consistently strives to achieve the highest standards in everything I undertake. Previously, I have served on DentSoc as both Education Rep and Freshers Rep, where I contributed to organising a number of successful events.

One of my key objectives is to further develop connections within the dental community, creating more opportunities for collaboration, interaction, and social engagement with students from other universities.

In addition, I have been a member of the BDSA Leeds committee, where I helped organise a highly successful ball. These experiences reflect my commitment and enthusiasm, whether working with dental professionals or coordinating high-quality events for students.

I am also passionate about ensuring that every member feels heard and represented. I am keen to listen to your ideas and feedback, and to create a society that reflects the interests and needs of all its members.

I have outlined some of my key ideas in the poster above, so please do take a moment to read through them.

Hey everyone, my name is Ty, and I’d love to be your Dentsoc President next year.

I’m currently one of the Dentsoc Events Reps, and this year I’ve helped organise some of the biggest events in the calendar. Being part of the committee has shown me how much potential Dentsoc has, and I’d love the opportunity to take that further as President.

My aim is to help make Dentsoc bigger, better, and more valuable for everyone. I want it to be a society where people feel comfortable getting involved, whether that’s through the big socials, daytime events, sports, or more relaxed activities.

I also want to make sure we’re actually listening to what students want, by improving communication and making it easier for people to share ideas and feedback.

As well as the social side, I want Dentsoc to offer more throughout your time at university, with opportunities that are genuinely useful and help you get more out of dental school. I’d also love to build more connections with other universities to create more collaboration and give people the chance to meet students beyond Leeds.

I’ve put more detail about my goals and how I’d like to achieve them on my poster, so please have a look.

And for anyone who doesn’t know me yet, here are a few fun facts about me:
* 🇿🇦 I was born in South Africa and now live in Nottingham
* 🎾 I enjoy playing tennis outside of university and like to stay active when I can.
* 🏓 I’m often playing table tennis between lectures and will happily take on any challengers
* 👑 I’m a previous Dentsoc Fashion Show winner
* ✈️ I’ve flown a plane multiple times while working towards my pilot’s licence
* 🎲 I’m very competitive, especially when it comes to board games and anything involving winning
* 🤝 I’m currently a Dentsoc Events Rep and have been involved in organising events this year
* ☕ I’m usually around between lectures and clinics and am always happy to chat about ideas for Dentsoc

Hi, I'm Sam a current second year dental student.

As president, I would continue the fantastic legacy of DentSoc, bringing a highly dedicated and organised attitude to the role. This would help us to work faster and better to bring you more events and get you more value out of your membership.

My year on committee as education rep has led to me organising some of the largest educational events DentSoc has ever seen. From the Colgate workshop for 100 students to the first ever Leeds iTOP and working with the British Endodontic Society, I have gained some very valuable contacts and will bring these forward to my new role. With the help of these clinicians and sponsors, we can elevate our events to the next level.

Please read my manifesto below and look out for my campaign poster. My campaign has 3 simple ideas - respect tradition, increase opportunity and enhance community. These are the 3 key threads of DentSoc and, under my leadership, I endeavour to respect and develop all 3 for the benefit of everyone.
