Hi, I’m Keira Beatty and I would love to be LUUMS secretary for the 2024-25 year. I am a BA History of Art undergraduate and have played the double bass since I was 8 years old, getting involved in lots of different orchestras and ensembles throughout school. Due to the fact that not many people play the double bass, I have been involved in three ensembles over the last year – SWO, Symph and String Orchestra. I have absolutely loved being in LUUMS during my first year at university. It is such a friendly, welcoming society and I have got to know a lot of wonderful people by participating in ensembles and attending socials. This has only made me want to play a more active role within the society which would allow me to interact with many more lovely people within LUUMS! I am applying for the position of secretary because I would like to get involved at the exec level and I believe my skill set makes me suitable for this role – I am passionate about music, personable, organised, diligent and a good team player. I believe that I would make a positive contribution to the committee and would be honoured to be a part of exec next year! :)
