Hi everyone! I’m El, currently a 2nd year music student and avid member of LUUMS. This coming year, I would be honoured to take on the role of Concerts Manager. For the past year and a half, LUUMS has been a huge part of my life and I have loved every second of it, from rehearsing every week to depping last minute, LUUMS has provided me with so many opportunities to perform music with the people who have become my community.

This past year, I have been running Sinfonia alongside Livia, Jonathon and Emily as well as leading the percussion section of SWO. This has provided me with invaluable experience on how to conduct an ensemble, liaise with Committee and organise our contributions to the concerts.
Additionally, being a percussionist, I have a very in depth understanding of the work it takes to set up and prepare the percussion instruments for each concert, as I have done for most instrumental ensembles this year.

As next year’s Concert Manager, I would endeavour to continue the work that Oliver started with the Piano and Chamber Showcase, and hopefully introduce more opportunities for LUUMS members to lead an ensemble and run rehearsals through these chamber groups. While we have a packed concert schedule already, I would like to expand the range of music performed beyond our 11 regular ensembles, and build connections with other LUU music groups and pre-professional orchestras based in Leeds.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being on Wider Exec this year, and look forward to being part of this amazing society next year. Vote for El!!
