Join the Leeds Artificial Intelligence Society for our hands-on GIAG workshop: Talk to the Future I: Build Your First AI Chatbot. In this interactive session, we’ll guide you step-by-step through building your first chatbot and powering it with popular LLMs—no experience needed! We'll start from scratch and dive deep.

What's in the workshop?

• Write code for your web interface, similar to ChatGPT.
• Power your chatbot with popular LLMs like ChatGPT, Gemini and many more.
• Give your chatbot some personality and identity.
• Learn what APIs are, the basics of how they work and why they power much of the web.
• Discover how to safely obtain and use API keys from providers like OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic.
• Together, we'll build a simple (but amazing!) chatbot that you can chat with by the end of the session.
• Important tips on keeping your app secure, even as a beginner.
• Deploy and share it with the world!!
