Leeds Light Night - On Campus
Leeds, 24-25 October 2024
The University of Leeds launches its most ambitious Light Night event yet, transforming the heart of the campus with a host of large-scale light installations, immersive experiences, and participatory activity for families. The programme showcases cutting-edge research, international commissions, student creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It draws inspiration from this year's Smeaton300 programme theme – Inspired by Nature.
Now in its 20th year, Light Night has become a cultural staple of the city, attracting over 1.1 million visitors in two decades, with last year’s event drawing a record 200,000 attendees.
With 15 installations, the programme at the University includes illuminated jellyfish in trees and an animal sound trail, offering a relaxed addition to the hustle and bustle of Leeds City Centre.
