Join the Plant Society for a private visit to York Gate Garden! This one-acre, Grade II-listed garden features 14 distinct garden "rooms", a striking sand garden, and a tranquil meadow walk. As we are visiting on a day when the garden is closed to the public, this is a fantastic opportunity to experience this renowned botanical site in complete tranquillity.

Meeting Point & Transport

Meeting Time: 12:45 pm

Meeting Point: Outside the Laidlaw Library.

Travel: We will be taking the bus together (approx. 30 minutes). Please note that there is a 10–15 minute walk from the bus stop to the garden entrance, and you are responsible for your own bus fare.

Returning: We will return to campus using the same route.

Making your own way: If you would prefer to travel independently, you can meet us at the garden at around 1:30 pm, the address is York Gate Garden, Back Church Lane, Adel, Leeds LS16 8DW.

Tickets & Donations 

Members: Tickets are free for members. While entry is free, we strongly encourage donations to Perennial, the charity that manages and maintains York Gate Garden. You can select a ticket option that includes a donation amount if you wish to contribute to the important work they do for those in horticulture.

Non-Members: Tickets are £3.00.
