Pig Sanctuary Visit
This is a trip that will have you squealing with joy!
Join us on a trip to 'Pigs in the Woods' , Huddersfield's local pig Sanctuary on Friday 07 March. The coach will leave Parkinson steps at 11.45am, and will return to campus at 4pm approximately.
Pigs in the Woods is a non-profit sanctuary for pigs and other animals that have been rescued. You'll have the chance to get 'snout and about' exploring 10 acres of woodland where pigs roam free and live naturally. The woodland is currently home to 20 pigs, including the Hogwarts graduate, Harry Trotter.
You'll have the chance to join a guided tour through the woods, and meet some of the free roaming residents. You can see the animals close up and might even have the chance to give tummy tickles to some of the pigs!
Cash preferred
Pigs in the Woods has a Cafe on site. Please note that there isn't electricity in the woods, so if you do stop at the cafe for a drink or treat, the preferred payment method is cash.
Accessibility
This trip is not suitable for students with poor mobility, as the woods can be quite muddy and there are not always clear pathways.
Footwear
All visitors to the sanctuary MUST also wear wellington boots or walking boots. Please remember to bring your own as although we do have some available to borrow, we cannot guarantee there will be enough. Unfortunately, anyone not wearing suitable footwear will not be able to enter the sanctuary.
