Get Out, Get Active Walking Trip - Bakewell and Chatsworth Estate, Peak District
Join Get Out Get Active on a walk from the picturesque Peak District town of Bakewell to the magnificent stately estate of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire - Chatsworth House, famous as the inspiration of Pride and Prejudice.
Starting from near Chatsworth House, we will set off walking through the Derbyshire Peak District to Chatsworth Estate stopping regularly to appreciate the views and points of interest. The route will take you into the grounds of the estate as the large mansion, famous as a filming location for films and programmes such as Pride and Prejudice and Peaky Blinders, creates an impressive sight in this beautiful landscape. We will have some time to explore some of the 1000 acre parkland or have a snack or drink.
We will then walk into the stunning town of Bakewell, home of the world famous pudding, where participants will be able to enjoy some free-time exploring the town before departing back to Leeds.
*Please note this trip will take you into the stunning grounds of the Chatsworth Estate but does not include access to the gardens or the house itself due to the high cost to access these areas and time restraints.*
Transport:
We will travel via coach departing from Parkinson steps at 08:00 and returning at 18:00. This is included in the ticket cost.
