Have you been elected to represent your course at the University of Leeds? If so, this training is essential for you to get to know the ins-and-outs of academic representation.


In this session we will cover:

  • Introduction to the role: The Leeds Partnership, Leeds University Union (LUU), the academic representation structure and how Course Reps represent student views.
  • Communication and support: Gathering feedback, communicating with students and staff, and signposting students to appropriate support services.
  • Meetings and follow-up: Preparing for meetings, handling difficult conversations, reporting outcomes to your cohort and recording activity through the Rep Action Tracker.
  • Development and recognition: Building transferable skills, strengthening your CV and receiving recognition for your contribution.
