GIAG - Bolton Abbey Sunday Hike
Join us for our Give-It-A-Go Sunday Hike on the 27th of September!
We will meet by 08:15 at the Parkinson Steps to take the coach into the Yorkshire Dales to Bolton Abbey.
This is the perfect opportunity to try hiking, we hope to run routes on the hills, and in lowland woodland, as well as visit some cool sights such as the Abbey's remains, or a trig point - the perfect place for a summit snap, or visit the Strid (a point where the river banks are close enough to stride across but the current is too fast), which inspired a rather interesting poem by William Wordsworth.
The coach will aim to depart Bolton Abbey at 16:30, if your group is back to the village early you'll have the opportunity to visit the local pub or cafe.
As with all Sunday Hikes, we will split into 4 or 5 groups each with two volunteer leaders.
We want to make Sunday Hikes as easy as possible for you, but due to safety, you must have the following: walking boots with ankle support, a rucksack, waterproofs, appropriate layers, sufficient water (1 litre plus), and sufficient food. For more information on gear please visit https://luuhc.com/gear/sunday-hikes or email our gear secretary at luuhc.gear@gmail.com.
