Dr Benji Waterhouse: From Leeds to Bestseller
Join Psyched for an exclusive evening with Dr Benji Waterhouse - a front-line NHS psychiatrist, award-winning stand-up comedian, and University of Leeds alumnus.
Described by The Guardian as the "Adam Kay of mental healthcare," Benji returns to Leeds to discuss his Sunday Times bestselling book, You Don’t Have to Be Mad to Work Here. This event offers a candid, humane, and laugh-out-loud look at the realities of working on a psychiatric ward and navigating the modern NHS.
The evening will feature a stand-up infused talk, an audience Q&A hosted by a consultant psychiatrist, and a book signing session.
About the Organisers This event is presented by Psyched, the University of Leeds student psychiatry society. Open to all students with an interest in mental health, Psyched aims to reduce clinical stigma, promote psychiatry, and raise awareness of the issues facing those with mental health conditions.
