Can you interpret what Brits mean from what they say or is the veil of politeness like a secret code? For example, 'See you later' does not necessarily mean you plan to see that person later (or ever). Or, 'Let's agree to disagree'. What you may actually think in that moment is 'I absolutely disagree and you will never change my mind'. But of course, you would not say that out loud!
