LUU Reclaims the Night!!

Liberate LUU is running a free workshop on the 26th November in Helix 9am-12pm (EC Stoner Building) to create banners and placards for Reclaim the Night Leeds on Friday 29th November. 

We will be providing the materials, so all you need to bring is yourself!

This is a ticketed event so we can gauge numbers as the room capacity is 30 but we expect people will come and go due to academic commitments.

This will also be an opportunity to learn more about Liberate LUU campaigns and meet some members of the Liberation Student Committee who are appointed members campaigning to make LUU more inclusive and equitable!

We will be organising separate tickets for the actual march on the 29th so that we can meet-up and walk to the starting point together so look out for these tickets on Engage.

Although the workshop and march is centred on making women's voices heard, we welcome allies as we want to empower everyone to take action against gender-based violence.

Reclaim the Night began due to West Yorkshire Police's response to the Yorkshire Ripper, whose murders were overlooked by the police because the women were believed to be sex workers. Reclaim the Night is back this year to centre the voices of those most affected by gender-based violence and supporting the work of activists across campaign groups.
