Poet Beth Calverley will be returning to campus with her magical Poetry Machine. 

Beth will ask you some illuminating questions and weave your words into a typewritten poem to take away with you. 

Just follow the clatter of her vintage typewriter and look out for the machine's bright yellow umbrella, flagpole and bubble engine…

Treat yourself to a solo poetry experience or bring along a friend or group. Spaces are limited so arrive early to sign up on Beth’s chalkboard. 

If you miss the chance to book a slot with Beth, pull up a chair and use tools at our self-guided writing station to write a poem, letter, list, story or something else. 

There is no charge for this activity, however due to limited spaces we ask that you only book a slot on the chalkboard if you are certain you can attend. 

How to get here: 

Arrive at the Great Hall gates and our friendly hosts in red puffer coats will be there to welcome you. 

Enter the Great Hall gates and turn left up the tiled staircase. UG.09 is half way up the stairs. 

Step-free lift access is available if the stairs are not accessible for you. Please ask a member of the team for assistance.
