Join us for the first weekend trip of the new academic year, as we head to Borrowdale in the Lake District.

We will meet late afternoon on Friday 11th October at the School of English, where we will travel by cars and vans to the Lake District. Transport, accommodation, breakfasts and an evening meal (except the night you arrive on and leave the trip) are included in your ticket. We are staying at the Borrowdale Institute, details of the hall can be found here https://www.borrowdale-institute.com/ - FYI, it is very unlikely that we'll have phone signal at the accommodation. The hall also does not have showers.

Each day we will split into groups and go on separate routes, these will vary in length, elevation and technicality. This trip should give you the opportunity to explore some of the Lake District's North-Western Fells as well as the 'Jaws of Borrowdale', famously described by Wainwright as the "loveliest square mile in Lakeland".

We want to make Weekend Trips as easy as possible for you, but due to safety, some equipment is required. A kit list can be found here https://luuhc.com/gear/weekend-trips. Please follow it! The club does have limited gear members can borrow, if you’d like to borrow gear for this trip please email our amazing Gear Secretary, Alfie, through luuhc.gear@gmail.com.

If you can no longer make it to the hike, please contact our Club Secretary, Alice, through luuhc.secretary@gmail.com as soon as possible. If we can find someone to replace you from the waiting list, you’ll get a full refund. If not, unfortunately we will not be able to issue a refund. Sorry, you can’t swap tickets.
