Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Chilean coup in 1973, when a military junta ousted the democratically elected Allende government. STAR in collaboration with Thinking Inside the Box is delighted to host 1st and 2nd generation refugees who fled to the UK to flee from political persecution. 

The event will have opening remarks by the two speakers and then open up to a Q&A. Shedding a light on the diverse causes of displacement and mirroring the situations we find ourselves in the current geopolitical climate. 

The event hopes to deepen attendees' knowledge of the Chilean coup and spark further discussions of present refugee issues we face.
