Explore the Yorkshire Coast - Whitby & Sandsend - GOGA Walking Trip - Sunday 8th December 2024

Group University of Leeds Events
Venue Parkinson Steps
Starts Sun 8 Dec 8:30AM
End Sun 8 Dec 6:30PM

Join us on a scenic coastal walk starting and ending in the charming town of Whitby which was immortalized in Bram Stoker's gothic horror novel, Dracula.

The Yorkshire coast is a source of endless fascination, full of beauty and steeped in history, folklore and legend.

The walk will begin in Whitby and will incorporate the small fishing village of Sandsend before returning back to Whitby. We will walk along the beautiful Yorkshire coast and we will pause regularly to appreciate the views along the route.

We will finish the trip off with some time in Whitby where you can purchase traditional British fish and chips so we suggest bringing some spending money for a tasty meal, snack or hot drink before departing back for Leeds.

We will depart by coach from the Parkinson Steps at 08:30 returning to Leeds at approximately 18:30.
