Torside Sunday Hike
Join us for our first (certainly not last) hike in the Peak District!
We will meet by 8:15 at the Parkinson Steps to take the coach to Torside in the Peak District. This area is host to a large reservoir chain, which once provided water to Manchester, as well as the crash site and wreckage of the 'Bleaklow Bomber’, a U.S. Air Force B29 plane that crashed on Bleaklow in 1948 in low visibility.
The coach will aim to depart from Torside at 16:30.
As with all Sunday Hikes, we will split into 4 or 5 groups each with two volunteer leaders.
We want to make Sunday Hikes as easy as possible for you, but due to safety, you must have the following: walking boots with ankle support, a rucksack, waterproofs, appropriate layers, sufficient water (1 litre plus), and sufficient food. For more information on gear please visit https://luuhc.com/gear/sunday-hikes or email our gear secretary Celeste at luuhc.gear@gmail.com.
