Introduction to Rowing with Active Campus
Active Campus Introduction to RowingÂ
Whether you want to get into competitive rowing, are interested in para-rowing or would like a different way to build your fitness and have fun, these sessions are for you. These sessions are a great way to take an active break on campus and meet new people. All University of Leeds staff and students are welcome to join these sessions.Â
Weekly on Thursdays from 30th OctoberÂ
12:00-12:45pm at The Edge Balcony . Please speak to reception on arrival who will direct you. Â
You don’t need any special kit, and all equipment will be provided. Please wear trainers and comfortable clothing. We also recommend bringing some water. Showers and lockers are available on site.Â
Sessions will look at introducing safe and effective technique on the rowing machine and building up fitness mostly on the rowing machine with some body weight exercises and stretching off the machines. Rowing indoors introduces safe and effective technique just for fun or before moving on to rowing on water. Participants can choose to become a social member of the rowing clubhouse and push their rowing further.
Rowing machines can be adapted to make this a truly inclusive activity.
