LGBTQ+ Poetry and Identity Workshop
We have limited £1 tickets to attend the Out Loud: LGBTQ+ Poetry and Identity Workshop, hosted by Flamingos Coffee House! Once you have your ticket, you can simply show up to the workshop at the venue. Flamingos Coffee House is located in Leeds City Centre, at 10 Central Arcade LS1 6DX.
Flamingos have provided us with a description of the workshop below:
The workshop will begin with some introductions, before quickly delving straight into some analysis of queer poetry throughout history. We will be covering extracts from poets including Sappho, Abu Nuwas, Walt Whitman, WH Auden, Allen Ginsberg, and Audre Lorde. Analysis will include some group reading and discussion, annotation, and exploration of the idea of 'identity' in particular.
In the second half of the session, we will focus on producing our own poetic works. This will include some free writing, some identity mapping, and some time for individual/paired/group writing.
Flamingos have confirmed that the venue is wheelchair accessible. They also have an accessible bathroom. They are dog friendly.
