As the Debate Soc’s Treasurer, my main aim will be to manage the society’s finances precisely and timely, supporting the smooth operation of the society in the future.
In addition, I will:
• Ensure the society has the cash on hand to meet its financial obligations as they come due
• Ensure the precise collection of funds, such as membership fees
• Aim to collect grants from the Union with increased timeliness
• Provide cost calculations and manage the budget, to ensure that all planned events have the necessary financial backing
• And support the organisation of the Leeds Debate Soc by securing the necessary funds!!
I would be a great fit for this role as I’m studying Econ&Finance here at Leeds, and I have gained valuable experience from managing a company’s finances, including: securing financing, liquidity management, making bank transfers, and billing.
I’m also looking forward to working together with the social secretary, event organiser, competitions officer, vice president and president to ensure the efficient continuation of the Debate Soc. The Debate Soc is a lovely and endearing community, which I would love to contribute more to!
