I'm Wong Chloe, also known as Oi Lam Chloe. As a first-year nutrition student, I am a candidate for Leeds Hong Kong Society's external vice president. My involvement in the Leeds University Union Hong Kong Society has increased my sense of belonging, and in my role as external vice president, I intend to deepen our relationships even further. In this position, I have a lot of opportunities to develop and hone my leadership skills. Simultaneously, engaging with external networks provides new insights, collaborative efforts, and career advancement. As part of my role, I'm required to build and develop relationships with companies, institutions, and organisations outside of our immediate region, speak out strongly in external forums and platforms in support of our organization's values, and simultaneously cultivate a network of partners, sponsors, and supporters who share our vision and can assist us in realising our purpose; embrace our originality and creativity in our dealings with the outside world; and search for new opportunities and ways to advance our goals. I previously interned as an event planner for the Hong Kong Metropolitan Youth Orchestra and served as treasurer of the Hong Kong Society Variety Show in 2024. Because of their innate capacity to uplift and drive others, these experiences have helped me develop the extrovert personality trait and inclination towards leadership positions. enabling people to talk in front of groups with ease, which makes them suitable for jobs requiring presentations or public speaking.
